Here are some things about me

I greatly enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends. I also enjoy playing sports, roller skating, watching movies, going to the beach, singing, dancing, discovering new activities to partake in and more. I also find bliss in learning new and intriguing things. Furthermore, I enjoy eating Caribbean food and soul food. I think that it would be interesting to travel to London.

About my work

Throughout this semester, I created four projects that helped to enhance my knowledge about the digital world.


DIGITAL ACCESSIBILITY

During this project, I was able to learn about the importance of making digital technology accessible to everyone. My project specifically talked about how the creation of closed captioning (subtitles) helped millions of people around the world with hearing impairments to better understand the sounds and depictions that transpires throughout videos, movies, shows, and more.

ALGORITHMS

During this project, I learned a lot about algorithms. Algorithms are a set of data that is collected by different people, such as company owners for example. Since these algorithms are collected by people, it can have implicit biases embedded in them. I ultimately talked about who particularly creates algorithms, the advantages and disadvantages of algorithmic influence, and how algorithmic influence impacts our everyday lives.

DIGITAL ARCHEOLOGY

In this project, my partner and I dissected the iPhone 6 to learn more about the essential and distinct components that are within the phone. After dissection and thorough research, we obtained information about the functions and derivations of the iPhone 6 camera, SIM card, battery, and charger port/ headphone jack.


ROBOTICS

For this project, my partner and I performed research on the development of robotics. We learned that robotics play an essential role in distinctive ways. For example, we learned that different robots can help with medicine, understanding different concepts in science, lifting heavy machinery, and more.
